In response to Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's statement last week about there being no homosexuals in Iran, the folks at Saturday Night Live created this hilarious digital short featuring Andy Samberg and Adam Levine of Maroon 5. Enjoy a clip from the Daily Reel!

Drama Queens

Sorry about the recent sparsity of posts. I have been busy with a host of other projects of late, but here's a question for you.
Question: What is it in the psyches of many gay men that allow for the stereotype of the "drama queen" to emerge and self-perpetuate?

"A Sea of Pink" combats high school bullies
Well this is a heartwarming story.
CBC News is reporting that when a Nova Scotia Grade 9 boy, who wore a pink polo shirt on his first day of school was harassed, called a homosexual, and threatened by bullies, two other boys purchased 50 pink t-shirts and went online to e-mail classmates to get them on board with their anti-bullying cause dubbed "A Sea of Pink."
The support was overwhelming! The next day at school, hundreds of students showed up for the cause, some wearing the t-shirts, some wearing their own pink clothes. Read more.

Gay sex remains illegal in Singapore

Pinknews is reporting that despite some encouraging talk earlier this year, Singapore's ban on "gross indecency" will remain in place, and male homosexuals will still face a maximum of two years in prison for gay sex. Sometimes it just feels like the world is going backwards.

Montreal in Virtual Earth
Thanks Kollectif!
Questions - As heritage groups work to preserve certain historical aspects of cities across the globe, can architecture ever represent the diversity of 21st century metropolises and the realities of global migration and human mobility? How do we relate culturally to the buildings that we inhabit?

Lying homosexuals?
For many of us lying became a fact of life when we were young in order to hide our sexuality.
Questions - How do adult gays and lesbians manage the old habit of youthful deception? Has lying about sexuality made us more apt to lie about other aspects of our lives?
